Most golfers' entire wind strategy is "take one more club." That's a start, not a strategy.

Real wind play means changing the shot, not just the club. A knock-down with the ball back in your stance and a shorter, quieter finish keeps the ball flight lower and far more predictable in a crosswind than swinging your normal shot harder into it.

Swinging harder into wind almost always backfires — more spin, more curve, less control. Softer swings in the wind, not harder ones, are the actual secret.
